Zizania is a unique aquatic vegetable in our country. The world’s wild rice as the only country in Vietnam and vegetable cultivation. The ancients called Zizania sibiricum “Zan”. Before the Tang Dynasty, Zizania sibiricum was cultivated as a food crop. Its seeds are called wild rice or Diaohu, which is one of the “six grains” (Yu, millet, rice, liang, wheat, rice). Later, it was discovered that some rice stems were infected with smut fungus without heading, and the plants showed no signs of disease. The stems continued to swell and gradually formed fusiform fleshy stems. This is now the edible wild rice stems. In this way, people use smut fungus to prevent the flowering and fruiting of Zizania sibiricum, and to reproduce this diseased, abnormal plants as vegetables. Can be used as medicine.
