Wormwood is a perennial herb, distributed in Asia and Europe. It is generally used for “moxibustion” in acupuncture. The so-called acupuncture is actually divided into two parts. “Acupuncture” means using acupuncture to prick acupuncture points, while “moxibustion” means using wormwood to smoke and burn the acupuncture points. Although the acupuncture points are irritated when heated, not any paper or grass can be used as “moxibustion” if they are lighted. The scent of wormwood must have played a role at the same time. When Chinese folks use cupping to treat rheumatism, it is more effective to use wormwood as fuel.
